The Natalie flat is undoubtedly one of Sarah Flints best sellers. Made virally famous years ago when Meghan Markle wore them on her first public outing with Prince Harry, they have become one of Sarah Flints core styles and after already owning 2 other pairs of Sarah Flint shoes, I had to try them for myself.
I purchased mine in the Saddle Vachetta for reference, but other colours and materials are available.

First Impressions
As per usual, Sarah Flint packaging is stunning and impressive, and the smell of the leather hits you as soon as you open the box. It’s a beautiful experience opening a pair of Flints, reading the card from the last person who made your shoes.
As for trying on the shoes themselves, the quality is immediately obvious as they feel remarkably sturdy and well made. I was quite surprised actually because of previous experience with flat shoes. You know when you wear flats and you can feel the ground under you and just know they aren’t made for walking? You won’t get that with the Natalie. You’re definitely wearing a proper, well made shoe.

Comfort and Fit
The memory foam padding makes them immediately comfortable underfoot. I should have gone up half a size as advised on the website for the Vachetta leather as I have slightly wide feet and the Vachetta is a stiffer leather than calf or other leather types. Being leather, it has stretched with wear, but it was a bit too snug for the first couple of wears. Length wise, they fit true to size. I’d stick to your normal size if you have a narrower foot.

Sustainable
Sarah Flint is big on sustainability, and in case you’ve read my other Sarah Flint reviews, I won’t repeat that same information here. They go with everything, getting cost per wear down. You also may not need as many pairs of shoes because they are so versatile! Made to last – just look after them and have them maintained by a cobbler every year or so depending on how much you wear them. Please check out my other reviews or visit the Sarah Flint Sustainability page for all the information.
Something to add, however, is the fact that these shoes are so wearable and versatile, particularly in a colour that matches your wardrobe. They go with everything. That alone makes them more sustainable than many other flat shoes, because you simply don’t need to own as many pairs of shoes if you have these. The flat in itself is a casual shoe and very comfortable, but the pointed toe and asymmetrical bow detail are so feminine and polished that they work equally well for more smart casual, even cocktail occasions if you’re not a fan of heels. I’d 100% be wearing these to the office if I still had my corporate job! Need ideas? See some of the ways I wear it here.
The style of the shoe is so timeless, you are going to love them for years to come. They certainly don’t date and the original designs mean they aren’t trend pieces you’re bound to get sick of after seeing every one else wearing the same shoes, especially on social media.

Quality and Durability
Adding to the sustainability, is the brilliant craftsmanship that goes into these shoes to make them such high quality. They are built to last, and like all good shoes, you can get them maintained at the cobbler every now and then, depending on how worn they are, and have them maintained. No need to throw them out!
Of course different materials wear differently. The calf leather options are probably the most durable as calf leather is quite a sturdy, good every day material. I chose the Vachetta which is untreated and does show up spots and darkens gradually over time, however, the spots are easily taken care of with a damp cloth. Check out my video on how to care for vachetta leather. You’ll see the fabulous condition of these shoes after countless hours of wear.
